68 Students from the Faculty of Management Studies of Sabaragamuwa University sat for the Bloomberg Aptitude Test on Wednesday 10th July 2013.

Bloomberg Aptitude Test (BAT) is a free-of-charge, two-hour, on-line test offered by the Bloomberg Institute, the training arm of the Bloomberg LP for students who wish to pursue a career in business and finance. It is expected that students taking BAT have a general understanding of and familiarity with current events in business, finance, and economics. BAT has 100 MCQs covering the eight areas of News Analysis, Economics, Math Skills, Analytical Reasoning, Financial Statements Analysis, Investment Banking, Global Markets and Chart & Graph. BAT is not conducted for the purpose of assessing the knowledge of the student, but assessing the aptitude to be successful in the fields of business, economics and finance, regardless of background. Therefore, BAT is open to students of any stream, not necessarily, business, economics and finance.

BAT is a great Self- Assessment for students, makes students aware of strengths, weaknesses and areas of improvement, compares their performance with that of same level students in other parts of world, and also helps them to choose the right career path suited for their skills.BAT will also assist the Professional Educational Providers / Universities by helping them to validate their curriculum by analyzing strong areas and areas for improvement of their students, so that they can modify the courses as per the latest industry standards.
