REAL Leaders leads through others

View(s):

Around the world, companies are embracing and harnessing the power of diversity. It allows fresh ideas, different perspectives, and is required for a business to evolve. This means that today’s leader should relate to and successfully motivate employees with increasing cultural, ethnic, gender and generational differences. To do this, he/she needs to be able to see the world through the eyes of other people.

Through his presentation, ‘Mind the Leadership Gap – Lead through Others’ at the CIMA Business Leaders Summit 2013:‘Get REAL!’, Dean Van Leeuwen will reveal how value systems are developed and how these influence the way people act and react to the world around them. Understanding the impact of different generations, inside and outside your organisation, will allow you to improve customer relationships, leadership skills and the productivity and interactions of your teams, helping you on your journey to becoming a Radical Evolutionary Authentic Leader.

Dean holds a Masters in Business Administration from Henley Management College, a Bachelor’s degree in Commerce (Hons) from University of South Africa and a Bachelor of Commerce degree from the University of KwaZulu-Natal.

He is the co-founder of TomorrowToday International, an organization that inspires leaders to think about people and their industry differently; explore new opportunities and, shows them how to be more successful in tomorrow’s changing world.

He has over 20 years experience working in marketing, operations, innovation and strategic planning and contributes to executive education programmes and lectures at prestigious academic institutions around the world including London Business School, Henley Management College and the Indian School of Business.

Dean’s gift for presenting concepts in a practical, understandable and engaging manner, combined with his insight into what drives people’s behaviour has created international demand for his expertise and has seen him deliver keynote speeches across five continents and consult to leading organizations worldwide such as Coca-Cola, Waitrose, John Lewis, Nordea Bank, Novartis, Unilever, Scouts, Procter & Gamble and many others.  He is a regular contributor to the New World of Work blog and Motivated Magazine and is currently writing a book called ‘The Great Social Revolution: Harnessing the next wave of productivity and creativity’ due to be published this year.
