New CEO at HSBC Sri Lanka and Maldives

HSBC (bank) has appointed Patrick Gallagher as Chief Executive Officer for HSBC Sri Lanka and Maldives, effective immediately.

He succeeds Nick A Nicolaou, who has retired after more than 35 years with the HSBC Group, the global bank said.

Mr Gallagher comes to Sri Lanka with over 23 years of experience. Mr Gallagher joined the HSBC Group in 1989 and has worked in a variety of roles, mainly in the wholesale banking area. His last posting was in Bahrain, where he held the position of CEO.
