Two hotels under the Hemas-owned Serendib Leisure group have been closed for refurbishment since May 1, the company said this week.
Club Hotel Dolphin in Waikkal, a 4-star property, will undergo a six month refurbishment of 100 rooms costing Rs 500 million and will be closed between May 1 and October 31. The hotel which has 99 superior rooms, 50 chalets and a suite, said went through a refurbishment in 2010, only for the chalets.

“This is phase two where the rooms will be refurbished,” a company official said.

Hotel Sigiriya will be shut for a 2-month period (May 1 to June 30) under a Rs 50 million-worth refurbishment. “We will be refurbishing some public areas at Hotel Sigiriya,” he said.
