Sri Lanka’s inbound tourism operations exhibition this year has for the first time included a number of overseas suppliers in addition to the 350 local participants.

The exhibition titled “Sancharaka Udawa” will be held on June 14 and 15 at the BMICH in Colombo and conducted for the third consecutive year organised by the Sri Lanka Association of Inbound Tour Operators (SLAITO) together with Sri Lanka Tourism.
It is the less exposed tourism service providers that would be provided an opportunity to showcase their products and services to the local tourism market, a media briefing in Colombo highlighted.SLAITO President Mahen Kariyawasam speaking on the occasion said the exhibition was the best meeting point for all service providers that allow the participants and the public to witness the gamut of services on offer, which are not considered mainstream.

Sancharaka Udawa Organising Committee member Imran Hassan told the media that this was an exhibition showcasing products and services of the tourism industry’s small and medium scale suppliers.

Among the service providers the event will include those in the fields of adventure sports, soft adventure providers like water sports, boat trips, cycle trails, white water rafting, mountain climbing, camping sites and dormitory-type accommodation in wildlife parks and all other areas within the adventure sports circuit.

In addition, the rising demand for quality transport providers will provide vehicle owners, wildlife jeep transport agents or owners, rail transport providers a unique opportunity to meet exhibit and promote their service to the industry. This year the event is expected to open to the public on both days, organisers said.
