SewEasy system deployed at Fakir Fashion in Bangladesh

Fakir Fashion Ltd, Bangladesh recently installed the SewEasy Actual SMV Calculation System.
In addition to software, Fakir Fashion Ltd. will increase the use of Industrial Engineering (IE) methodology in their sewing room management.

This IE project is intended to contribute to increase international competitiveness in the textile and clothing sector. Keerthi Abe of SewEasy, Sri Lanka provided training on implementation to the users, as per requirements set by Hemantha Kumara, SewEasy General Manager, a statement from SewEasy said.

‘FAKIR’ is the family title with the founder of the group being the late Yusuf Ali Fakir. He started his business in the mid of nineteenth century as a local textile manufacturer and had investments in Jute, Dyes and Chemical industries. The five sons of Mr. Fakir had a jointly operated company in the 1970s and that was gradually developed to a garment exporting company in 1988 with four sewing lines. Now the company is a fully compliant composite knit industry with over 200 lines and plans are being made for a major expansion in 2013.

SewEasy Pvt. Ltd. is serving large and medium garment producers in emerging markets, to benefit from productivity improvement and cost reduction techniques. They specialize in blending the IE withSix-Sigma, Lean and Toyota concepts for setting competitive direction for enterprises based in Asia, Africa, Europe and Oceania. Quick training of existing IE team and rapid rollout are hallmarks of SewEasy strategy.
