Mike Tennekoon’s work on an antique suitcase

The new Saskia Fernando Gallery in Galle Fort -at Number One, Magistrates Square stages its first exhibition since opening its doors in December. The show will feature both art and design, from artists living and working in Sri Lanka.  The exhibition ‘Sri Lankan Contemporary Art & Design’ features a selection of leading contemporary artists and emerging designers. Along with work by artists Saskia Pintelon, Jagath Weerasinghe, Jagath Ravindra, Mika Tennekoon and Kingsley Gunatillake, the exhibition features furniture, design, jewellery and socks, all locally designed and produced. ‘Sri Lankan Contemporary Art & Design’ opened yesterday and will continue until April 10.
