Loretto house victorious at St. Lawrence Convent Sports Meet

With a spectacular allround performance, Loretto House emerged overall champions at St. Lawrence’s Convent 48th annual Inter-House Sports Meet, which was held at the St. Peter’s College ground on January 18.
The event’s chief guest was Rev. Fr. Ranjith Madurawela. Others present at the occasion were the school’s Principal Rev. Sis. Chandrika Perera, Vice Principal Marietta de Silva, Superior Rev. Sis. Antoinette Maria and several other distinguished invitees.
The four houses- Loretto, Lourdes, Lisieux and Lima- all displayed their talent throughout the day’s events and at the end of proceedings Lisieux came in third and Lourdes second. Many track and field events were completed within the first two weeks in January while the events on the day of the sports meet consisted of 27 track events, three class relays including a schools invitational one, a dance item as well as the drill and band display. The prefects’ race, teachers’ race, past pupils’ race and parents’ race were among the rest of the events that captured the crowd’s attention.
Rev. Fr. Ranjith Madurawela, the General Manager of Catholic Private Schools for Western Province was the chief guest of the 48th annual inter-house sports meet 2013 of St. Lawrence Convent which was held on January 18.
