The Oasis Hospital Laboratory Redevelopment Programme which commenced in November 2011 under the supervision and guidance of Dr. Susil Gunesekara, Visiting Consultant in Diagnostic Laboratory Services is fully hatched now to serve you (the patient and the Heath-care Seeker).

The Board of Management of the Oasis Hospital, inspired by the Chairperson Mrs. K. M. Edirisinghe, Director/Chief Executive Officer Dr. Nayomi Kanchana Edirisinghe and Dr. Prasad Medawatte the Chief Executive Medical Officer, came to realisation that the existing Laboratory Service ought to be modernised to provide an improved Laboratory Service. The vision of the Managing Director Mrs. K. M. Edirisinghe, successor to the founder of the Oasis Hospital Dr. Edirisinghe, is to provide the beneficiaries of the Oasis Hospital Medical Services ‘What they are after’ but not ‘What is imposed upon them’. Revamping the pre-existing Diagnostic Laboratory setting with a life-span of over ten years, to provide a service endowed both with accuracy of the highest order (error-free) and minimal waiting time (shortest turnaround time) was non-economical either time-wise or financially!

Although the Laboratory already had well functioning analytical equipment, these were put aside and replaced with the most modern generation, brand new (un-refurbished) Analysers of unsurpassable reliability. The Oasis Hospital Diagnostic Laboratory space is doubled despite building space being phenomenally costly in the city environs. The Laboratory environment clean and comfortable embraces novel features in laboratory setting and conforms to ISO 15189: 2007 requirements.

Our Laboratory is not a cluster of rooms, overcrowded! Mrs. K. M. Edirisinghe was emphatic that modernisation of the Diagnostic Laboratory Services must be aimed at maintaining ‘The highest in ACCURACY of Laboratory Investigation Findings’ and ‘The availability of Laboratory Reports in the shortest TURNAROUND TIME’.
