Strong, public support for BT-RCB polls

Polls through email and on the street jointly conducted by the Business Times (BT) and the Colombo-based Research Consultancy Bureau (RCB) have drawn a tremendous response in recent ties.
Last week’s poll on the budget conducted over less than 24 hours was another ‘hit’ with Sri Lankans quickly sending in their responses on email and street interviews taking place in the morning by the RCB in two towns.

The polls and surveys have been held for a long time – in an exclusive initiative by the BT and RCB – to gauge public opinion on a range of national, social and economic issues, without any bias. These polls give an opportunity to the public to express their views as public expression on national issues is paramount in any society and it is through the media that this is possible.

If anyone wishes to take part in these polls which also offers an opportunity to comment on issues (with the participant’s identity kept confidential and not disclosed), they should send a request to the Business Editor on bt@sundaytimes.wnl.lk. Your address would be added to our email data base and used for future polls.
