St Joseph’s College recorded a hard fought first innings victory over Seethawaka MV in a Under 13 Sri Lanka Schools All Island game played at Darley Road.

The Visitors who were put into bat were reeling at 14 for 3 wickes before a 55 run stand for the 4 th wicket between Heran Munasinghe(31) and Malinda Ranaweera (32) helped Seethawaka to go pass the one hundred run mark.However the Josephian spinners Shehan Rodrigo(3/32) and skipper Nipun Samarasinghe(2/18) ran through the rest of the batting to bowl them out for 129.

The Joes started off well but ran into a spot to be 50 for 4 at one stage.However a fighting unbeaten 46 from Wicket keeper Dilesh Perera and a useful 22 from Jehan Fernandopulle saw the host overcome the Visitors total and obtain a first innings victory

Seethawaka MV 1st Innings 129 all out in 42.4 overs(Heran Munasinghe 31, Malinda Ranaweera 32 Shehan Rodrigo 3 for 32, Nipun Sumanasinghe 2 for 18) and 74 for 3 in 12 overs(Heran Munasinghe 28)
