All roads will lead to the City League Football complex today (Sunday April 1) when two unbeaten teams, Colombo Football Club and Premier Sports Club kick off for the Silver Cup final.
Colombo Football Club, the defending champions will go out will all their guns blazing to complete a hat trick and take possession of the cup for the third successive year.
However, Premier Sports Club will certainly not be easy meat and will not go like lambs to the slaughter. So Colombo Football Club will certainly have to dig deep into their football resources to annex the cup for another year.
The tournament coincided with the one hundredth anniversary of the Colombo Football League who are celebrating their centenary.
In their march to the final, Colombo finished with a clean slate by giving Victory Sports Club an unmerciful 11-0 drubbing and the following up with a 4-0 win over Old Anandians, posting a 3-0 win over Henamulla United and a 2-0 win over Soccer Fans SC in the semi final.
Premier Sports Club made to the final registering win over Young Totwatte 1-0, Badaowita United 1-0, Nawagampura SC 3-1 and in the final they had the better of Colpity United 2-1. (BM)
