Final selection today for the Junior Rugby Asiad pool

The Under 20 Junior Rugby Asiad Pool which was brought down to 35 players after a practice game two days back will see the final touring 23 being selected today at CR & FC Rugby Grounds after a few practice matches.The first set of matches will kick off at 8.30 am.

The new selection committee comprising Chandrishan Perera (Chief Selector), Nazeem Mohamed, Pradeep Basnayake, Hisham Abdeen and Bharatha Hegoda will have a tough job at hand to bring this talented squad down to 23. The Tournament will take place in Hong Kong with Japan, Thailand, Hong Kong and Sri Lanka participating and the tournament to be worked off from June 24 to July 3.

Senior national coach Ellis Meachen will be in charge of the outfit with C P Abeygunewardena assisting the New Zealander.
