OpenArc Japanese Foundation Undergraduate Scholarship Programme

It is a universal fact that the importance of education can never be overstated, and with the objective of investing in talented and dedicated students, the OpenArc Japanese Foundation is offering 20 scholarships for undergraduate studies, for Sri Lankan students.

Sri Lanka is viewed by the OpenArc Japanese Foundation, as a country that has immense human resource potential and significant scope for further improvement of skill and specialization in several fields. Therefore, the foundation views local students as a viable human resource investment. This also presents great opportunity for an exchange and understanding of the diverse culture of Japanese and Sri Lankan students that can result in the creation of job opportunities for Sri Lankan students in Japan, likewise Japanese students in local industries.

Therefore, a great emphasis will be generated to promote British Education together with the benefits of the exemplary Japanese work culture as well as the Japanese Language and their commitment to quality & quality systems; in order to recruit individuals to high end corporations (especially Japanese Corporations) in countries such as Japan, South Korea, China, Malaysia, Hong Kong and Indonesia.

OpenArc Japanese

Computing, Information Technology, Electronic Engineering, Business & Management related degrees are the eligible courses of study for this scholarship programme, while the applicants only require a minimum qualification of G.C.E OIL's or equivalent, as well as be a permanent Sri Lankan resident under 25 years.

The eligible candidates will be evaluated and the successful students who are selected by the OpenArc Japanese Foundation will commence their study programme, which includes a thorough on the job training process that will provide crucial practical exposure to students that will undoubtedly be beneficial towards their career. The study programme will also provide in-depth and up-to-date knowledge on the selected industry and subject material; in order to mould the student into a high caliber professional in the respective industry.

The applications are available at the OpenArc Japanese Foundation - situated at 0.120, Highlevel Road, Kirulapone, Colombo - 06. Students are requested to come along with their Parents I Guardian to meet the Chairman - Mr. Teruaki Ono of the Foundation on the is 15thof May 2010 from 8.00am to 5.00pm.
