BIT of the University of Colombo with MATRIX

MATRIX Institute of Information Technology (Pvt) Ltd, with its inception in early 2006 had and continues to have one main mission of providing a high quality service to the ICT industry. With this in mind the Chairman/ Managing Director Mr. Viraj Pinto Jayawardena strongly believes the quality of education affordably is the key to success.

The Bachelor of Information Technology (BIT) of the University of Colombo School of computing is a very well recognized IT degree offered by the University of Colombo, which has immense industrial recognition. The programme targets to many-an audience including school leavers just after O/Ls, A/Ls, even professionals willing to gain an academic qualification or even undergraduates seeking to enhance their job opportunities after graduation.

By considering the global economical downfall, which also has some impact on our local population the company still maintains a very economical pricing structure for all courses, specially the BIT of the UCSC. It has been an obvious fact that many students who may start BIT on their own or with any other institution has eventually ended up with MATRIX in the next semester due to the high quality of training and education the institute provides and further to the very economical course fee. This has also been a fact in many other courses like the BCS Professional Examinations in IT. The institute offers an annual registration method but still maintains the "semester wise" registration since if the student is unhappy with the quality of our education they still have a chance to switch to any other, which normally does not happen, stated the Chairman.

At an exclusive interview the Chairman Mr. Viraj Pinto Jayawardena, stated to complete the entire BIT programme with MATRIX it will only cost LKR. 140,000, inclusive of examination fee. He stated the institution offers a 50% discount for all undergraduates and therefore will be approximately LKR. 70,000 for such a student to complete the entire programme. Further adding to the discount scheme the chairman said the organization has decided to grant a 10% discount for all registrations on or before June 30 2009."We provide a course fee for any candidate to commence and successfully complete the programme and also offer the best education for them" stated the chairman. Mr. Viraj Pinto Jayawardena is a veteran in the field of Information Communication Technology (ICT) with over 13 years experience in the field and most probably the only lecturer in Sri Lanka who has educated the students from the first intake of BIT. He is also a very popular lecturer for BCS Professional Examinations in IT, due to his immense experience and excellent delivery of the subjects.

Further emphasizing on the BIT programme offered by the University of Colombo, Mr. Pinto Jayawardena stated the selection test has now been removed for candidates who have already obtained the minimum 3 passes in the AL examination, which eventually increases the chances for candidates to start the BIT programme. However students, who have not obtained the minimum entry qualification can follow the FIT (Fundamentals of Information Technology) of the UCSC and then proceed to the first year of the BIT programme. Further details can be obtained from the BIT coordinator on 0714317930.
