Pension benefits for auxiliary forces’ families

Parliament is expected to approve this week amendments to the Widows’ and Orphans’ Pension Scheme (Armed Forces) Bills so as to extend pension benefits to members of the Regular Reserve, the Volunteer Force and the Volunteer Reserve.

The Pension Scheme will also apply to personnel who are disabled as a result of injuries sustained while performing their operational duties. The two amendment Bills will be taken up for debate on Thursday.
