International processed food and packaging exhibition in August


At the press conference -- Aasim Mukthar - General Manager- Lanka Exhibition and Conference Services (Pvt) Ltd, Chula Seneviratne - Secretary - Sri Lanka Food Processors Association (SLFPA), Ranjith Wijetilake - Secretary-Ministry of Agriculture Development and Agrarian Service, Mr. Dhammika Gunasekera - Chairman - Sri Lanka Food Processors Association (SLFPA), Ranjith Wijetilake - Secretary-Ministry of Industrial Development, Asoka Gopallawa - President - National Agribusiness Council and Mario De Alwis - Chairman - Processed Foods Development Initiative (Pvt) Ltd (PFDI).

The agribusiness, food processing and packaging fraternities will come together from August 21-23 to showcase ‘Profood/Propack 2009’- the International Processed Food and Packaging Exhibition.
According to a press release issued by the Lanka Exhibition and Conference Services (Pvt) Ltd, the show hopes to create opportunities for individuals and companies to exchange new products, technology and services.

The show is held in partnership, with the Ministry of Industries and the Ministry of Agriculture Development which has supported this event for the eighth year, the press release said.
It further stated that the exhibition will comprise around 240 stalls covering the totality of the food supply chain, and will showcase the latest innovations in the local processed food industry, including technology and packaging, agricultural machinery, seeds, services, education and fertilizer.
