St. Bernadette’s College wins all–island Karate Championships
 

Students of St. Bernadette’s Model Maha Vidyalaya were able to win the Junior Championships in the School Karate Competition organized by the Sri Lanka School Karate Do Society. Students of St. Bernadette‘s College showed special performances at this event held at Sugathadasa Stadium in Colombo.

Vishva Eranga Perera was able to win the Gold medal in the Under-13 Kumithe event. Supun Madhusanka, Gihan Madusanka and Saman Jayaweera of the same school were able to win Golds at the group event. Ruwan Chamara was able to be placed 2nd in the Under-17 event.

Sanuja Gayathri succeeded in winning the Gold medal in the Under-17 Girls Kumithe event.

Madhushan Wickramasinghe in the Under-13 Boys Katha event and Piyumi Kaushalya in the Under-17 Girls Katha event were able to qualify themselves for the semi-finals.
