30,000 teachers to be recruited amidst shortfall of 43,000

The Education Ministry is set to recruit over 30,000 teachers by next month to overcome the shortage in state-run schools, Deputy Minister Madhura Seneviratne told Education Times. New term tomorrow

The second school term will commence tomorrow (20). It will continue until July 24, the Ministry of Education has said. The government granted school holidays on April 10 for the Sinhala and Tamil New Year. Accordingly, a total of 9 days of holidays were given. (NW)
