IBSL to hold its landmark National Conference
View(s):The Institute of Bankers of Sri Lanka (IBSL) will host its inaugural National Banking & Finance Conference on January 20 and 21 at The Kingsbury, Colombo, creating a timely national platform to advance professional dialogue, research led insights and sector wide collaboration at a moment when Sri Lanka’s financial services industry is rapidly evolving through technology, innovation and sustainability imperatives.
Held under the theme “Digital Transformation and Financial Sustainability,” the conference is designed to bring together practitioners, academics, regulators and industry leaders to engage in discussions that are expected to shape the future direction of the banking and financial services sector in Sri Lanka. The conference proceedings reflect the changing priorities of the industry amidst emerging regulatory demands, renewed focus on customer trust, and the growing need for future ready banking systems aligned with national and global realities, the institute said in a media release.
Dr. Nandalal Weerasinghe, Governor of the Central Bank of Sri Lanka, will be the Chief Guest, underscoring the national importance of the initiative. The inaugural session will also feature a keynote address by Dr. Hans Wijayasuriya, Chief Advisor to the President of Sri Lanka on the Digital Economy, who is expected to deliver timely insights on Sri Lanka’s digital transformation agenda and its relevance to the future of banking, financial innovation, and long term economic sustainability.
A key highlight of the conference will be the high powered CEO Forum, which is expected to offer some of the most valuable strategic insights of the entire programme.
