Sri Lanka’s largest education exhibition and job fair, EDEX Expo 2026, will return this January, reinforcing its role as a national platform that connects education, skills and employment at a time when informed career decision-making has become increasingly critical.

Organised by the Royal College Union since 2004, EDEX has grown into a trusted initiative guided by a clear vision of empowering Sri Lankan youth to be globally competitive. Over the years, the Expo has evolved beyond a traditional exhibition into a multi dimensional movement supporting education access, employability and sustainable development.

The 2026 edition will be held on January 16, 17 and 18 at the BMICH in Colombo, followed by January 24 and 25 at the Kandy City Centre, and will be open to the public from 9.30 a.m. to 6.00 p.m., with free admission at both venues.

This year’s Expo will bring together over 150 educational institutions and 15 leading corporates, including state universities, vocational and technical institutions, non-state higher education providers and reputed foreign universities. Students will have direct access to international education pathways from countries such as Canada, France, Japan, Australia and New Zealand, while also exploring opportunities in destinations including the UK, US and China.

A key attraction will be the EDEX Job Fair, which will offer on-site interviews and recruitment opportunities facilitated by leading Sri Lankan corporates across sectors such as IT, banking, media and culinary arts, providing immediate linkages between education and employment.

Beyond education and careers, EDEX continues to deliver social impact through initiatives such as EDEX Careers, Think Green, Sithuwam and Nenapahana. One of the highlights this year is the Career Key psychometric assessment, which helps students and professionals identify career paths aligned with their abilities and interests, supporting more informed and purposeful choices.

Commenting on the initiative, EDEX Chairman Mahinda Galagedara said EDEX was built to support young Sri Lankans and their families at critical decision-making stages of life. Project Chairman Sumeda Karunaratne noted that EDEX offers meaningful guidance whether for students, parents or professionals seeking career transitions, while Project Secretary Nadun Hettiarachchi highlighted the Expo’s role in encouraging informed choices through engagement and dialogue.
