The Sri Lanka Press Association will celebrate its 70th anniversary convention and the D F Kariyakarawana Memorial Journalism Awards on Wednesday, November 26 at the Hilton Colombo.

The country’s oldest journalists’ association, which was founded on October 9 1955, is to felicitate 10 veterans of the print and electronic media, who have rendered a yeoman service to the industry.

Prof Anura Wickramasinghe, Rosmand Senaratne, Manik de Silva, Daya de Alwis, Rasiah Selvaraja, Siri Ranasinghe, Indunil Kahawita Amarasekara, D Oliver Silva, Mohamed Abubakar Phakurdeen and Lal Hegoda are the veterans who will be honoured at the 70th convention.
