Thirty-nine-year-old Don Janitha Damruwan Jayasinghe who lives in Kohuwela is in kidney failure and in urgent need of a kidney transplant.
As the waiting list in the state hospital is long, Janitha who has several more dire health conditions, is hoping to get the kidney transplantation performed in a private hospital. Currently he is undergoing dialysis eight times a month.
The cost of the transplant is around Rs 9 million (Rs 9,000,000). While Janitha has sought some funds from the President’s Fund, he is appealing to generous donors to please spare whatever they can for him to have the kidney transplant urgently.
