Ladies College clinch Marie Musaeus Higgins Trophy for 13th time
View(s):Ladies’ College powered their way to victory at the 20th annual LC-MC Rowing Regatta, securing a dominant 35-17 win against traditional rivals Musaeus College at the Colombo Rowing Club last weekend. By virtue Ladies College clinched the Marie Musaeus Higgins Trophy on offer for the overall winner of the regatta for the 13th occasion.
Ladies College oarswomen won seven out of the 11 race events held on October 11 on Beira Lake waters, including the ‘A’ Four Boat Race, the ‘B’ Four, ‘C’ Four, the Under-15 Four, ‘A’ Double Scull, ‘A’ Pair as well as the Old Girls’ Four.

Musaeus College claimed the wins of ‘B’ Double Scull, ‘B’ Pair, ‘A’ Scull and ‘B’ Scull events. The victorious Ladies College rowing crew was led by Jessica Sivapragasam with Sanindi de Siva as her deputy. Other members of the victorious crew were Sheraya Perera, Rinithi Samarasooriya, Hesara Madugalle, Tanisha Cooray, Janumi Weragama, Tihani de Saram, Ananya Keerthisinghe, Hayaa Hassen, Vinudi de Silva, Shamaali Ellawala, Dalya Liyanage, Anika Perera, Vinugi Jayasinghe, Iyannah Karunaratne, Amaanie Jayaweera, Hana Yusuf, Chantelle Perera, Turanya Basnayake, Arielle Fernando, Aneetra Munipura, Anya Poloniwita, McKaella Karunaratne, Meha Balendra, Suraaya Basnayake and Nireka Pieris. Sharen Kannangara coached the

winning crew.
The Musaeus crew, led by Senumi Hewavithanage, included vice-captain Hesandi Perera, Anira Rodriga, Lisansa Hewabahithige, Senodee Dahanayake, Inaya Jayakody, Nikini Aluthge, Senola Shridharan, Thisuli Senulya, Sahanya Rajapaksha, Nethumi Rajapakse, Isini Rajapakse, Sineli de Silva, Hansalee Collure, Dinaya Gayuni, Dinugi Ruwanpura, Yehansa Perera, Senudi Mendis, Binuli Edirisooriya, Shaily Amarasinghe and
were coached by Thiran Sellahewa with Krishanthi Peramunagamage assisting as the teacher in-charge.
