Dialog celebrates two decades of excellence as President’s Gold Cup finalists confirmed
Ruwanwella Rajasinghe Sports Club and Dehiowita Rantharu Sports Club will battle for men’s supremacy, while Mahauswewa Rathnapala Sports Club will meet Mahawa Vijayaba Sports Club in the women’s final at the Dialog President’s Gold Cup Volleyball Tournament to be held on November 1 at the Sugathadasa Indoor Stadium.
The prestigious competition organised by the Sri Lanka Volleyball Federation is powered by Dialog Axiata PLC–the country’s leading mobile telecommunications operator, which celebrates two decades of unwavering commitment towards developing Sri Lanka’s national sport–volleyball.

Following an exciting series of district and provincial competitions, the national-level tournament brought together 36 teams–18 men’s and 18 women’s, who emerged as champions and runners-up at provincial level. After weeks of intense competition, these four outstanding clubs earned their places in the grand finale.
In the women’s semi-finals, Mahauswewa Rathnapala SC secured their place in the final with a commanding 3-0 victory over Kirindiwela Sangamiththa SC, with set scores of 25-19, 25-13, and 25-21. Mahawa Vijayaba SC also booked their spot in the final after defeating Ruwanwella Sri Seena SC 3-0, winning comfortably with set scores of 25-16, 25-12, and 25-15. In the men’s category, Ruwanwella Rajasinghe SC overcame Mahauswewa Rathnapala SC 3-1, while Dehiowita Rantharu SC defeated Nattandiya United SC 3-1 to secure their places in the finals.
The grand final is expected to draw a large audience, including senior officials, former volleyball greats, and fans from across the island, as it marks another milestone in Sri Lanka’s proud volleyball tradition. The national-level matches commenced under the patronage of the President of the Sri Lanka Volleyball Federation, Sajeeva Meddawatta, Senior Deputy Inspector General of Police, and Harsha Samaranayake, the Vice President, Group Marketing at Dialog Axiata.
