Bishman and Naqeeb clinch ATF Doubles title
In an all-Sri Lankan battle of the ATF Under-16 C2 Week 2 Tennis Tournament final played at the SLTA courts in Greenpath, Colombo yesterday, Bishman Balaratnarajah and Naqeeb Hussain clinched the title with a comfortable 2-0 win against Ashlin de Silva and Damsath Peiris.
Earlier in the semi-finals, the champion pair Bishman and Naqeeb overcame D. Wickramasinghe of Sri Lanka and Jayaraj Penupotala of India while Ashlin and Damsath got the better of Sri Lankan pair Mark Grero and Udhera Gunasinghe. In fact Ashlin was aiming for a double crown as he earlier bagged the Singles title with an easy 2-0 win over his doubles partner Damsath.
