Musaeus College crowned champions at All-Island Wushu Games
View(s):Musaeus College delivered a commanding performance at the All-Island School Games Wushu Championship, clinching three major titles and emerging as the overall champions. The prestigious event was held at the Torrington Indoor Sports Complex in Colombo, drawing top school-level talent from across the country.
The Musaeus girls showcased exceptional skill and teamwork, sweeping the board with victories in the Group Event Championship, Overall Under-18 Championship, and Overall Under-16 Championship. They also secured the Under-20 runners-up title, further solidifying their dominance on the national wushu stage.

Led by the experienced school wushu coach Dinesh Perera, and assistant coach Sulaiman Nagim the team’s success was built on discipline, determination, and unity. The champion squad featured standout athletes including Akee Priyaviraj, Dimanya Eriyamulla, Janudi Kasthuribandarage, Imasha Udani, Banulya Devanarayana, Samadhee Amarasekara, Vinujathi Senerath, Tiranya Ediriwickrama, Sesandi Kannangara, Amawie Waidyasekara, Thenuki Perera, Hansika Rathnayake, Nethini Rajakaruna, Malinsa Fernando, Jithuli Yumalya and Minudi Perera whose performances were instrumental in securing the titles. This remarkable achievement not only highlights the strength of Musaeus College’s wushu programme but also sets a new benchmark for excellence in school-level martial arts in Sri Lanka.
