Warnasooriya returns with ‘Megha Warsha’

Seasoned filmmaker Udayakantha Warnasooriya’s 29th cinema venture, ‘Megha Warsha’, a triangle love story has started its production.
A story around a spirited girl who finds herself caught in a complex and complicated love while pressured by familiar connection,
the film stars Anjali Wathsala Jayasinghe and Chathura Rajapaksha in the main roles.
The film also stars veteran Sanath Gunathilake, Hemasiri Liyanage, Duleeka Marapana, Dilani Abeywardena, Sangeeth Prabhu, Sanjaya Muramudali, Chandima Karunadasa, Rohan Wijethunga, Malkanthi Jayasinghe, Odhatha Hansaka, Wishwa Lanka and Kishu Gomes.
Assisted in direction by Donald Jayantha, Chandrasekar handles cinematography while art direction is Manjula Ayagama. Make up by Nalin Premathilake, dress design by Shanthi Warnasuriya and Priyantha Dasanayake.
Production planning by Hansali Samarawickrema and still photograph is by Indika Mallawarachchi. Musical score by Rohana Weerasinghe and playback songs by Bhathiya Jayakody, Santhush Weeraman and Centigrade Thusitha, while the lyrics are penned by Nilar N. Cassim. Story and screenplay by Udayakantha Warnasuriya ‘Mega Warsha’ is produced by Evoke Rupahala Films Private limited.
Started with ‘Mahamera Usata’ in 1997, over the last three decades Udayakantha has made films that were box office hits. Well-known for making thriller movies to Lankan audiences, films like ‘Gini Avi Saha Gini Keli’, ‘Bahu Bharya’, ‘Rajya Sevaya Pinisai’, ‘Bahu boothayo’, ‘Gindari’, ‘Ran Kevita’ and ‘Yakada Pihatu’ gave Udayakantha unique identity for his film genre. Later he made some comedy
movies and children’s films, which attracted packed audience.
