People’s Bank empowers young entrepreneurs
View(s):The Ministry of Industry and Entrepreneurship Development, in collaboration with the Industrial Development Board (IDB) and the Ministry of Education, recently organised the National Medal Awarding Ceremony — the flagship event of the National School Industry Entrepreneurship Circles Programme — at the Nelum Pokuna Theatre, Colombo 7. The ceremony was held under the patronage of Sunil Handunneththi, Minister of Industry and Entrepreneurship Development.
At the event, People’s Bank presented a cheque to the IDB in support of the People’s BizTeens Challenge 2025, an island-wide initiative launched by the bank with the objective of empowering the next generation of entrepreneurs, the bank said in a media release.
Ministry of Industry and Entrepreneurship Development Secretary Thilaka Jayasundara, People’s Bank Chairman Prof. Narada Fernando, Chief Executive Officer/General Manager Clive Fonseka, IDB Chairman Ravi Nissanka, People’s Bank Deputy General Manager – Retail Banking and Overseas Customer Services Aruni Liyanagunawardana, and Assistant General Manager – Retail Banking Nalin Perera, together with senior officials from People’s Bank and the IDB, were present at the ceremony.
