Colombo South U17s, chasing a modest target of 198 runs, fell into deep trouble as they lost the top five wickets when the score on just 47 in the tenth over, and further struggled on 95-8 at the halfway stage.

They were rescued by Stevon, who made a patient knock of 78 runs in 107 balls inclusive of 10 boundaries, and Matheesha, who remained unbeaten on 44. The pair shared a valuable stand of 76 runs for the ninth wicket to help Colombo South reach the target with three balls to spare, their second successive win of the tournament.

A quickfire 92-ball knock of 102, inclusive of 10 boundaries and seven towering sixes by skipper and man in-form Arosh Sithumina, laid the foundation that helped Galle record a 15-run win on DLS Method against Dambulla in another match played at the Balagalla Stadium in Galle.
