Royal College, one of Sri Lanka’s leading educational institutions, is set to mark a significant milestone in its sporting history. On September 1, the school will host a special commemorative event to celebrate the 50th anniversary of its Golden Year of Sports-1975, a year remembered for outstanding performances across multiple sporting disciplines.

The year 1975 holds a special place in the hearts of all Royalists as it was time when their athletes showcased exceptional skill perseverance and sportsmanship. The commemorative event will begin at 8:30am at the Royal College Hall and all former sportsmen who represented the college in any sport during 1975 have been invited to attend.

The dress code is a white shirt paired with the college tie, maintaining the tradition and pride of the institution and attendance is free of charge. Organisers say the occasion will not only celebrate sporting achievements but also serve as a moment to reconnect old friends, share memories, and inspire future generations. Participation confirmations can be made by sending an email to chariban@hotmail.com.
