OPA to host 38th Annual Conference
The Organisation of Professional Associations of Sri Lanka (OPA) will host its 38th Annual Conference, bringing together leaders from across the country’s professional sector early next week.
“This conference, which will be held on August 19 and 20 will focus on advancing resilience, innovation, and inclusive growth amid evolving global dynamics,” Jayantha Gallehewa, President-Elect OPA, told the media last week.
Alongside this conference, the 4th National Apex Awards, which will be a highlight of the event, will also take place at Cinnamon Life, Colombo. It will be celebrating Sri Lanka’s most exemplary professionals for their lifetime achievements and outstanding contributions to their professions and the nation, Sujeewa Lal Dahanayake, President of OPA, said.
OPA, which was established in 1975, has become the apex body in Sri Lanka representing the professional community with 52 member associations spanning 34 disciplines, including Law, Medicine, and Engineering unifying platform for over 60,000 professionals.
The theme of this year’s event will be “Resilience and Outpace Redefined: Thriving and Adapting,” which is focused on gaining the spotlight around how professionals and institutions in Sri Lanka can strengthen resilience and lead transformative progress in an increasingly complex global environment, Mr. Gallehewa said.
Day One of the event will feature the Inauguration Ceremony attended by over 300 representing member associations, academia, professionals and industry, he further said.
Dr. Harshana Suriyapperuma, Secretary to the Ministry of Finance, will deliver the Keynote Address.
Day Two will feature five technical sessions, each led by industry pioneers and academic experts, offering insights and actionable strategies to position Sri Lanka competitively on the global stage.
