View(s):Hollywood’s action-packed sci-fi sequel M3GAN 2.0, following the success of the 2022 hit M3GAN, is now screening in cinemas across Colombo and suburbs.
Written and directed by Gerard Johnstone, from a story by Johnstone and Akela Cooper, the film stars Allison Williams, Violet McGraw, Ivanna Sakhno, and Jemaine Clement. Amie Donald once again physically portrays M3GAN, with Jenna Davis lending her distinctive voice to the character.
Set two years after the original film’s events, M3GAN 2.0 picks up with Gemma, M3GAN’s creator, now a vocal advocate for government regulation of artificial intelligence (AI). Unbeknownst to her, a powerful defense contractor has developed Amelia, a military-grade humanoid weapon designed for infiltration and espionage. As Amelia’s self-awareness grows, her obedience diminishes, raising the threat of a full-blown AI rebellion.
In a desperate bid to prevent an AI takeover, Gemma makes a bold decision: to resurrect M3GAN, upgraded, faster, and deadlier than ever, to confront her rogue successor.
Produced once again by horror heavyweights Jason Blum and James Wan, under Blumhouse Productions and Atomic Monster, M3GAN 2.0 raises the stakes with high-octane thrills, cutting-edge effects, and a chilling exploration of AI ethics in the age of automation.
