Miss Thailand wins Miss World crown

Thailand’s Opal Suchata Chuangsri was crowned Miss World 2025 at the ceremony held at the HITEX Convention Centre in Hyderabad, India, last evening. The 24-year-old beauty queen secured the coveted title after a series of competitive rounds, and will receive a cash prize of USD 1 million dollars.
Chungsri also emerged as the continental winner for Asia, one of four continental titles awarded during the final stages of the event.
Joining her in the top four continental honours were Miss Martinique – Aurelie Joachim (Caribbean), Miss Ethiopia – Hasset Dereje Admassu (Africa), and Miss Poland – Maja Klajda (Europe). All four advanced through the Top 20 and Top 8 rounds to earn their spots among the finalists.
Representing Sri Lanka on the international stage was Anudi Gunasekara, the reigning Miss World Sri Lanka. Ms Gunasekara participated in several fast-track events, including the Sports Challenge, Talent Challenge, Head-to-Head Challenge, Top Model Competition, Multimedia Challenge, and the Beauty With a Purpose segment.
This year’s Miss World pageant brought together contestants from over 100 countries.
