Manushi beat team-mate Hashini to claim TT title

Manushi Pabasara defeated her schoolmate Hashini Amandi, to claim the Under-9 Singles Table Tennis Tournament, held to coincide World Women’s Day at the Gampaha Sports Complex. In a home vs home final between two paddlers of Mahamaya Girls’ School, Kadawatha, Manushi Pabasara reigned supreme over Hashini Amandi, to claim an easy two-set win.
Manushi and Hashini, both eight-years-old, reached the final of the Girls’ Under-9 Singles, but it was the former who dominated the final by recording wins of 11-8 and 11-7 in both sets. This was the maiden competition for both paddlers, and overwhelmingly Manushi and Hashini both managed to enter the final overcoming other contenders.
Both paddlers are being trained under Lalith Perera and the Principal of Mahamaya GS, Kadawatha, Mrs. Renuka Priyadarshani, willingly supports students from the school who possess the potential in extracurricular activities, mainly sports.
