Ushan Perera was the winner of the Pro Class of Above 75k event, as Adeesha Kithwith and Chandima Goonaratne finished at second and third positions respectively.

The Amateur Class event of 50kg to 75kg was won by Chandiv Rambukpotha, who finished ahead of Sachin Niyarepola and Davinda Fernando. Amjadh Ifthikar dominated the Amateur Class event of Above 75kg, as he forced Sam Smith to finish at second and Jagath Maharage to third positions.

The event flagged off by 1.00pm but due to bad weather it was interrupted and finished after two hours of action. Despite this, the SpeedBay track was packed with racing enthusiasts and family and friends of the drivers resulting in a massive turnout.

The SpeedStar Championship had three weight classes under two categories professional and amateur as well as a Ladies Open in Pro and Amateur classes. This was the first round of the championship and the next race will be followed in June.
