The Exams Dept is looking for qualified persons in the field of Education, to establish a pool of Resource Persons (RP) for Exam duties of the Dept. Commissioner General (CG) of Exams, B. Sanath Pujitha said that, other than school exams, the RPs will support Exam duties.

Lecturers in Universities, National Institutes of Education, National Colleges of Education, Teacher Training Colleges and Technical Colleges, School teachers and officers in State and private institutions including Ministries, can apply for this pool. Pensioners who have served in the above institutions and meet the required criteria, could also apply,” the Dept said.

The Dept said the services of the RPs may be required on weekdays/weekends/public holidays and even after working hours.
“Confidentiality of the work assigned has to be maintained and special attention paid to accuracy and efficiency of performance. Read, understand and abide by the provisions stipulated in the Public Examinations Act No.25 of 1968 and other regulations,” the CG emphasised to those aspiring to be a RP.

Duties of the RP will include setting and moderation of question papers, translating question papers in all languages, evaluating answer scripts and offer testing services that need expertise.

The Dept seeks those qualified and experienced in Languages (Sinhala, Tamil, English, Pali, Sanskrit, Prakrit, French, German, Hindi, Japanese, Arabic, Korean, Chinese, Russian), Religion (Buddhism, Thripitaka Dhamma, Catholicism, Christianity, Hinduism, Islam), Mathematics [Pure Mathematics, Combined Mathematics (Pure/Applied), Higher Mathematics, Statistics, Business Mathematics], Science [Physics, Chemistry, Biology (Botany/Zoology), Agricultural Science, Veterinary Science, Health & Physical Education, Horticulture, Animal Husbandry], Engineering (Civil, Mechanical, Electrical, Electronic, Computer Science, Motor Mechanical Science, Library & Documentary Science), Technology [Information & Communication, Agriculture & Food, Bio Resource, Designing (Construction/Mechanical/Electrical/Electronic), Management (Management & Organisation Methods, Human Resource, Planning), Commerce (Business Studies, Business Statistics, Marketing, Entrepreneurship Education), Accountancy (Accounting, Financial, Cost & Management), Auditing and Finance (Govt Financial Regulations, Financial & Banking Systems), Economics, Administration (Establishment Code, Office Systems, Office Management), Social Science (Political Science, Civic Education, Communication & Media Studies), Geography, History, Aesthetics and Law.

Apart from the main subjects, RPs are required for General Knowledge (General Knowledge & World Affairs), Aptitude (Intelligent tests, Attitude & Aptitude tests for the respective professions), Shorthand in all 3 Languages and Electronic Typing, Braille translation in all 3 Languages. - Nadia Fazlulhaq
