Sussex College sponsors Pinsara for Malaysian Swimming Open Championships

Pinsara Sadaham Hettiarachchi of Sussex College Ampara has qualified to represent Sri Lanka in the Malaysian Swimming Open Championship which will be held in Malaysia in March.

It is highly likely that Pinsara will bring glory to Sri Lanka as a compatible young athlete. He was able to come first in the swimming categories of Under-9, 50metre LC Breast Stroke and Butterfly Stroke at the  44th Annual Sri Lanka All-Island Swimming Championships 2017 organised by Lanka Aquatic Sports Union (SLASU).

He was able to set a new record for the Breast Stroke swimming category. Pinsara was able to finish the category in 44.34seconds setting the new record by breaking the previous record of 45.62 seconds. Pinsara was able to prove his aptitude in the swimming and revealed the signs of a future world class swimmer.

Pinsara Sadaham who studies in Grade 4 at Sussex College, Ampara has shown his capacity as a swimmer from a very small age and has won awards in every swimming competition he participated. His personal trainer who helps in modeling Pinsara to be an excellent swimmer is non-other than Indika Kumara. According to Indika, Pinsara shows excellent abilities in swimming and he anticipates and has great confidence that in the next five years with proper training and guidance, Pinsara would achieve great heights in swimming nationally and internationally.

Behind all success and achievements of Pinsara, is the Chairman of Sussex College Network, K.A. Sunil Jayatissa. He is one of the main figures behind Pinsara. As a result of his guidance, the Sussex College extends its maximum support, being the sole sponsor for this student by honouring all expenses to participate in the International arena. The Sussex College is the sole sponsor for Pinsara to represent Sri Lanka in the Malaysian Swimming Open Championships 2018.

Pinsara who has the ability to bring glory to Sri Lanka is also given the privilege by excluding all payments of bills at school. Sussex College also has given the special privilege of obtain a transfer to any one of the other colleges within the 20 College Network in Sri Lanka.

According to the Chairman of Sussex College, K.A. Sunil Jayatissa, who has shown special attention to students who are gifted in sports, Sussex College previously has sponsored the growth of the students who have outstanding performance in sports.
