Lyceum Wattala win title for third successive year

For the 3rd year in succession Lyceum International School, Wattala (LISW) dominated the track to win the Overall Championship title at the 18th International Schools Athletic Championship (ISAC) which came to a close at the Mahinda Rajapaksa Sports Complex, Diyagama last Sunday.

Randi Himasha Cooray of Gateway, the Best Girls' Athlete

While Lyceum International, Wattala became the bride at the ISAC, Gateway College, Colombo (GCC) remained the Bridesmaid for the 3rd successive year to finish runner-up ahead of Lyceum Intertnational School, Nugegoda (LISN) who occupied the 3rd spot.

Lyceum International, Wattala finished at the top with 39 Gold, 33 Silver and 21 Bronze medals and runner-up Gateway College winning 22 Gold, 18 Silver and 25 Bronze medals and the Lyceum International School, Nugegoda with 19 Gold, 17 Silver and 18 Bronze medals finished in the 3rd spot.

Chenuka Kasturiarachchi of Gateway College, Colombo was adjudged the Best Athlete in the Boys category for his fine performance in the Boys Under 20 High jump event with an effort of 2 metres while Best Athlete in the Girls category the lass also from Gateway College, Colombo Randi Himasha Cooray was rewarded for her jump of 12.39 metres in the Under 20 Triple Jump which was in fact the Best Performance of the Meet.
