Third Eastern 8 Ball Pool tournament on June 14
View(s):The Third Eastern Wok 8 Ball Pool tournament conducted by Ev-Entertainments is scheduled to be worked off on June 14 (Sunday) at the Queens Café Pool table at Duplication Road in Kollupitiya. The tournament which began in 2013 with the blessings of the Sri Lanka Billiards and Snooker Association is the brainchild of an ardent cue fan Azzam Muhammedh.
As in the previous tournaments the organizers are expecting the participation of over 150 and they have decided to offer attractive prizes to winners. In the previous two tournaments cash prizes to the value of Rs. 100,000 was offered to the winners. This time out they have decided to present airline tickets to Bangkok cash prizes and trophies to the champion and the runner up of the tournament and also a cash award to the second and third runner up.
The first round matches will be played over three frames, the quarter final over five frame, the semi-final over seven frames and the final over nine frames. Dinesh Jerome won the inaugural tournament in 2013 while reigning national snooker champion Susantha Boteju won it last year and will be looking forward to retain the title this year too. - MSA
