Sri Lanka Seniors, led by Dr. Dilanjan Soysa and with Anton Selvanayagam, Fritz Perera and Piyadasa Salgado were placed second with 117 points in the 18th Bridge Federation of Asia and Middle East (BFAME) league matches held in Amman, Jordan, behind India with 144 points and thus qualified for the Bridge World Championships to be held in Chennai in September 2015.
This is the first time a Sri Lankan team has qualified for the Bridge World Championships.

After India, who as hosts are an automatic entry to the World Championships, withdrew from the final, Sri Lanka met the third place Pakistan in the final. In the final against Pakistan, Sri Lanka who had a +0.5 carry over going into the finals won the morning session 54 to 49 and went into the final session with a 5.5 Imp lead but lost badly to Pakistan in the afternoon session 46 to 18 thus finishing runners up.

This is the first final played by Sri Lanka in an international Bridge tournament for over 35 years, since the inception of BFAME.
Pakistan ladies beat India ladies by one point in the final to make it a double for Pakistan. Sri Lankan pair Fritz Perera and Piyadasa Salgado won the Pairs tournament where 42 pairs from nine countries participated.
