Mohamed Alfer, who has a fair bit of First XI experience, made use of all that to strike an almost run-a-ball century (108 off 110) and pave the way for the Antonians defeat Anuradhapura Central by 99 runs in an Under-17 Division I School Cricket match at Katugastota
Regular opener Kanishka Ukgalpaya batted attractively for his 42. Pacie Dilanka Wijeratne rattled the Anuradhapura lads later. Shehal Dinelka and Savindu Sathsara did their bit for the visitors.

St. Anthony’s 251 for 8 wickets in 50 overs (K. Ukgalpaya 42, M. Alfer 108, L. Wijebandara 21, D. Spruffer 23, A. Wijesekara 12n.o, M. Bandara 3 for 23, S. Randira 2 for 28)

Anuradhapura Central 161 all out in 36.2 overs (S. Sathsara 44, S. Dinelka 49, M. Bandara 13, D. Wijeratne 4 for 12, P. Premaratne 3 for 40, M. Wickramanayake 2 for 36)

Rajans in easy win

The Rajans pulled off an easy 86-run win over Vidyartha on the Parabola System in their Under-17 Division I School Cricket match played at Lake View. Openers Ruchira Pupulewatte (84 with nine fours and two sixes) and Gihan Vitharana (42) laid the foundation with 120 runs for the first wicket.

Deeshan Gunasinghe and Chathuranga Aludeniya built on that. Vidyartha faced 26.4 overs in a match reduced to 38 overs by rain. Aravinda Attanayaka and Nimal Perera made twenties for the losers.

Dharmaraja 221 for 7 wickets in 38 overs (R. Pupulwewatte 84, G. Vitharana 42, D. Gunasinghe 31, C. Aludeniya 28n.o, N. Senanayake 2 for 36, P. Gunatilleke 2 for 34)

Vidyartha 89 for 4 wickets in 26.4 overs (A. Attanayake 23n.o, N. Perera 26)

Sri Rahula through

Good knocks by skipper Chamika Samarasinghe and Janith Siyambalapitiya (an unbeaten 81, with 13 fours and three sixes) enabled Sri Rahula Katugastota to defeat Wickremabahu MMV comfortably in their Under-15 Division II School Cricket match played at Katugastota.

The spin combination of Udara Navaratne and Malith Rajapakse bowled out the visitors fairly cheap. Left-hander H.K. Gunawardena, opening the batting, made a fighting 52 for the Gampola team.

Wickremabahu MMV 161 all out in 36 overs (H.K. Gunawardena 52, G. Gamage 16, J.M. Jayasundera 15, U. Navaratne 3 for 26, M. Rajapakse 4 for 7)

Sri Rahula 162 for 5 wickets in 23.5 overs (J. Siyambalapitiya 81n.o, C. Samarasinghe 49, H.K. Gunawardena 2 for 17, K. Yohan 2 for 41)
