British Foreign and Commonwealth Office Minister Hugo Swire will answer questions on Sri Lanka, live, via Twitter, tomorrow (24), ahead of the UN Human Rights Council vote on a resolution that calls for an independent, international investigation into what happened on both sides during the war in Sri Lanka.

The UK has co-tabled the resolution and is seeking support of members of the UNHRC to pass it. The vote will take place on March 27 or 28.

The UK Foreign and Commonwealth Office, on its official web page said that, on March 3, at the UNHRC, FCO Minister Hugo Swire has said the UK would be calling for an international investigation following the UN High Commissioner’s February report which said that the Government of Sri Lanka has ‘failed to ensure independent and credible investigations into past violations of international humanitarian and human rights law’ on both sides during the civil war.

You can submit a question using the hash tag #askFCO and follow the Minister on Twitter @HugoSwire, from 1000 to 1045 (GMT).
