A National Hospital doctor has been ordered to appear in the coroner’s court after a woman he operated on subsequently passed away due to alleged negligence.
Colombo Additional City Coroner Mohamed Ashroff Rumy had given the order after the family members of 38-year-old Nishani Malima Perera, a pharmacist attached to a private hospital in Colombo, claimed that she had been admitted for a minor operation and had died due to post operation negligence.
Meanwhile the father of the deceased claimed he had received anonymous calls that the Bed Head Ticket number on the documents had been altered.
The doctor has been ordered to appear on April 28.
