For the first time a school for young prison inmates was declared open by President Mahinda Rajapaksa on Friday at Watareka, Homagama. Homagama Sunitha Vidyalaya is the result of a joint effort of the Education and Rehabilitation and Prison Reforms Ministries. It will have classes from Grades 8 to 11.
