Established on October 15, 2003, the PCCSL stated in a release this week that it has adjudicated on over one thousand three hundred complaints during the ten year period. The PCCSL is managed by the Newspaper Society of Sri Lanka, The Editors’ Guild of Sri Lanka, the Free Media Movement and the Sri Lanka Working Journalists Association and is supported by several other affiliated media unions.

To mark the event, the Chairman of the PCCSL’s autonomous Dispute Resolution Council (DRC), Mr. Sam Wijesinha held a dinner at his Kollupitiya residence, ‘Lakmahal’ where he said that the PCCSL has proved that self regulation in the media industry has succeeded over adversarial litigation.
