TV and radio personality Danu Innasithamby will present ‘Love Changes Everything’, a musical show for a cause on February 10 and 11 at the Bishop’s College Auditorium.
In an evening that brings together major artists in the Sri Lankan music industry supporting one cause ‘Love Changes Everything’, will feature performances by some of the country’s best known contemporary artists and choral groups.
The show will present a variety of musical genres and performances. Ashanthi, the face of Sri Lanka’s youth music, songbird Natasha, the evergreen Ricky Bahar , the dynamic De Lanerolle Brothers , Umara and Umaria and pianists Mano Chamungam and Neomal de Alwis are all set to provide audiences a rare treat.
The show will also feature the Merry-An Singers, Revelations, Soul Sounds Senior and Junior Choirs, Voice Print, Revelations, Shanelle, Shehara (Shey) Antoinette de Alwis, Mariazelle, Billy Fernando, and the very dynamic Rukshan Perera. These are the performers lined up to take the stage at ‘Love Changes Everything’ with the inimitable Dominic Kellar as the host .
The show is a tribute to Danu’s mother who loved music- she died of cancer. The show brings to life her joy of music and this translates into the commendable cause it is in aid of. Proceeds from the shows will be used to entertain young children in the paediatric section of the Cancer Hospital.
Says Danu: ‘‘Love Changes Everything is a show very close to my heart. I am particularly pleased that the show brings together talented musicians in Sri Lanka with whom I have worked and known to raise funds for such a notable cause. It is a show to watch with friends and family and I hope it conveys the message of love and happiness to everyone who watches it.’’
The show will also launch Danu’s new t-shirt brand. Inspired by his love of music and the start of his career in the radio industry, this initial collection is appropriately titled ‘The Play List Collection’. Profits from the t-shirts sold will be given to the Cancer Hospital and to less fortunate children.
