Achievers Premier League

The “Achievers Lanka Business School”, is one of the pioneering CIMA tuition providers in Sri Lanka, which provides quality professional education whilst grooming its students with soft skills and the right attitudes, which are highly sought after in the corporate world.

This grooming is done mainly by providing extra-curricular activities. Our experience over the years in providing the best professional education for the students not only to the locals but also to students from countries like India, Maldives, Pakistan, Dubai etc, have made us one of the leading institutes for CIMA, and helps us to live up to our vision to make the ‘Good’ become ‘Great!’.Our mission is to mould each and every student into hardworking professionals who will stand out in the corporate world and thereby achieve our vision.

‘Achievers’ has organized an “Achievers Premier League”, featuring diverse sports ranging from cricket, basketball, netball, rugby, football & swimming. The most important point about this league is that it is the first time that a higher education institute in Sri Lanka will be having an Intra-Campus Sports League and it will be a new experience for everyone. The students of Achievers’ are divided into teams to compete and display their sportsmanship. The six groups formed in the September 2011 Fast Track Foundation Batch are ‘Dynamic’, ‘Competent’, ‘Drive’, ’Professionalism’, ‘Performance’ and ‘Confidence’, which are also the six pillars of ‘Achievers’. The main objective of the “Achievers Premier League” is to develop leadership qualities and foster a sense of team spirit within the students.

Sports involve competition; they involve winning and losing. This will expose the players to two aspects of life: success and failure. Participating in sports builds a competitive spirit and teaches students to participate irrespective of the end result being a victory or a defeat. This will teach the students to accept both success and failure in a positive spirit. The most important benefit to be gained is sportsmanship.
Organizing a premier league is very beneficial in terms of the development of social skills of students. Sports activities teach them to interact with people and act as a team. They foster collective thinking and develop planning skills. This will build confidence and give them a sense of accomplishment. Sports thus play a vital role in one’s social well-being.

Taking part in the sports activities will teach the students to plan thoughtfully. They need to device the best ways to score goals, the best strategies to win and plan carefully towards victory. Finally the premier league will play a vital role in the enhancement of the students’ personality. This will be of great use as they will become professionals of the future in the corporate world. Thus the “APL”, plays a vital role in our students’ career at ‘Achievers’ and is very popular among them.
