Niroshan puts Trinity on top

Under 19 Cricket

A knock of 64 by Niroshan Dickwella helped Trinity to come out on top against DSS when play stopped for lunch on day two in their Under 19 inter-school cricket encounter played at Asgiriya.

Niroshan's knock which had 11 boundaries and a six helped Trinity resuming from their overnight score of 95 for 1 make 141 for 4 before making a declaration. This was in reply to DSS's score of 138 they made on the opening days play. DSS batting the second time went into lunch on 69 for 3.
DSS 138 (Lasith Abeyratne 55: Lakshan Jayasinghe 5 for 34, Heshan Wanniarachchi 2 for 22, Janishka Premasinghe 2 for 35) and 69 for 3 at lunch (Savin Cyril 35 n.o.)

Trinity (95/1 overnight) 141 for 4 declared (Niroshan Dickwella 64, Janishka Premasinghe 28, Bhagya Palihawadane 24 n.o.: Uvin Bandara 3 for 31)
