Russian dance extravegenza at Continental

World renowned Russian Dance Troupe ‘Yunost’ will perform in Colombo on 15 and 16 of September. ‘Yunost’ will come alive at the Ceylon Continental Hotel on 15 Sepetember followed by a After party session at the popular Heist Bar from 10.30pm.

The gala dinner and variety of dance show will be held on Friday 16, September. The tour and the Colombo show is organized by the Russian Cultural Centre in Colombo with the collaboration of Russian Embassy and Continental Hotel.Russian Chef Irkin Abdullaev will be in action at the Ceylon Continental on 15 and 16 September, when the Russian cuisine comes along with the Russian Dance Troupe Yunost.

Chef Irkin Abdullaev has been working as a cook since his early days. In his profession he tried to blend the traditional cuisine of Uzbekistan (former part of the Soviet Union) where he was born and traditional Russian one.

He took part in different food festivals all over the World and now he`s happy to bring the taste of the authentic Russian food to the Sri Lankan gourmands. The tickets are priced at Rs. 2500/- for the Dance Extravaganz and the after party session are priced at Rs. 1000/-.

The Gala dinner dance and the Dance Show of ‘Yunost’ on Friday is priced at Rs 4500/- per head.

‘Nenje’ from ‘Ferdy. Je’

‘Ferdy. Je’, the multi lingual singing star is this week’s feature on TV Times’ ‘Star of The Week’.
TV Times together with M Entertainment and Vibrations bring weekly ‘Star of The Week’ competition featuring a singing sensation.

Each week we introduce a singing star, a popular figure in the Lankan music scene or a latest music album of a popular star to our readers. TV Times readers can now win two brand new albums of the particular star, featured on the TV Times, with the compliments of the Vibrations, the favourite music store.

All you have to do is to read the story of the ‘Star of The Week’ and answer the simple question on the coupon and post it to ‘Star of The Week’, Sunday TV Times (Coupon No 11), No 8, Hunupitiya Cross Road, Colombo 2 on or before 13 September.

Ferdy. Je brought out his music, writing, and singing talent to the Sri Lankan Tamil speaking population in 2005 with hit songs such as ‘Nanun Pinnal’, ‘Pullu konduwa’ and ‘Kadalin mugam’. His first album titled Ferdy Je was well accepted by all Sri Lankan music lovers, and this gave a Ferdy Je a new identity.
In the year 2007, he released his second album titled ‘Lalai Lay’. This was a mixed language album with a collection of local flavours. Anne Vithanage contributed her talent in this album with many songs.
In the year 2009, Ferdy Je along with Anne V released their 3rd album titled ‘Origin’.

This too was a mixed album which included the hit song ‘Horen Bala bala’. This year, ‘Nenje’ is Ferdy Je’s fourth album which has 10 hit songs along with 30 of his previously released tracks all on one MP3 album. This is the first MP3 album to be released by M Entertainments in Sri Lanka.

Vietnamese Style Banh Mi Sandwiches at MLH

Vietnamese baguette sandwiches, called Banh Mi, have attracted a loyal fan base and it will be the sought after because of the unique and delicious flavours.

MLH’s Viet style french baguette; with a combination of rice and/or wheat flour, resulting in a very light, crackly crust and not overly dense bread, will use the following condiments for the filling pickled julienned carrot, pickled radish, sliced cucumber, cilantro leaves and stalks, mint, and other fresh and organic ingredients.
